Hello!

Hi all,

I have been enjoying photography for decades, and writing poetry for quite a few years as well. More recently, I have decided to blend the two, and have created some poetography projects. While I am a relatively shy person (don't laugh) it is rewarding to share with those who might appreciate the art. Feedback is always appreciated. My one request is that you ask permission before you share or forward my work  to anyone and include my info and copyright if approved.
Enjoy!

BEAR

BEAR VIDEO

A bear strolled through my yard tonight
Surprising, but yet welcome sight.
I know I should be scared, but not.
My only hope - he isn’t caught!

No cubs in tow, maybe a “he”
Or just a very young lady
Feeders empty...so what to do?
He takes a sniff and just walks through!

PICTURE PERFECT DAY

Image may contain: cloud, sky, outdoor, nature and water

Today’s a picture perfect day
The kind meant to be savored
I'd love to try to bottle it
And take a sip, unwavered

To tackle life’s next task or quest,
Undaunted by the thought.
Empowered by the memory,
The essence I had caught.

Drink energy when mine has waned,
Renewed by nature’s realm
Tap its strength when life gets hard
And threats to overwhelm

Sadly, though, it's not to be
And so I'll keep instead
These memories and images
Locked safe inside my head.

DEER

A deer and I crossed paths today,
I scared him half to death.
Since deer are skittish anyway,
I stood and held my breath.

Browsing in a nearby field,
Then sipping from the brook;
Sad to interrupt his meal
But I just had to look.

His coat was beige and tawny
He looked a healthy buck
I felt both sad and happy
Encouraged by my luck

If only I could tell him
“I don't mean any harm.
Just finish eating as you were
While I just watch and learn”.

WINTER STORM STELLA

Today I am thankful
Despite all this snow
No school and no work
So nowhere to go.

For Dana who shovels
And Gary who plows
Thankful my kids
Arrived home safe now.

I’m thankful for warmth
And keeping the power
To cook nourishing food
And steaming hot shower.

For watching the birds
Grabbing food on the wing
And hunkering down
While dreaming of spring.

WINTER RAIN

It rains sometimes in winter.
Not often, but it does.
Last night, in February,
Well, that's the way it was.

We've had some snow already
This rain caused quite a mess.
I was not one bit happy;
Of this I must confess.

The driveway, it was frozen,
Though puddles could be found
Amid the crusty ice and such
Between the slushy mounds.

I sighed and scraped and shoveled
Then stopped to ponder why
Just why is it we never
Get snow in mid-July?

HALLOWEEN

HALLOWEEN

Halloween’s my favorite night

But MONSTERS give me quite a fright!

BLACK CATS watching all we do…

GHOSTS sneak up behind us...BOO!

Through the dark night BATS do fly

WITCHES wander in the sky

Casting spells on one and all

Before the full moon starts to fall.

VAMPIRES rise and PUMPKINS glow

As TRICK-OR-TREATERS dare to go

To HAUNTED HOUSES for a sweet

Collecting CANDY TREATS to eat

Once the ghouls have all been fed

They head home and off to bed

Tomorrow there’ll be no more fear

Halloween’s just once a year!
