My dad becomes a cyborg

In hospital today

To regulate his heartbeat

That has gone astray

The Coviello curse, he has...

His heart beats way too fast

So they'll install a pacemaker

This model's meant to last.

The wait was agonizing

Much longer than we thought

Would procedures go as planned?

And how much time was bought?

The doctors came out smiling

"Everything went fine".

With some luck, this gadget

Will outlast even mine!

DANDELIONS

Dandelions have appeared

Much to my dismay

Multiplying just like weeds

There's more and more each day

I thought I'd let them live last year

A choice I now regret

Because they're growing quickly in

The lawn that I just set.

I pulled and dug and tugged so hard

And then I dug some more

There had to be a thousand...

Maybe even more

Not a one plant could escape

I soon became obsessed

Each seed meant a million more

I dared not stop to rest.

I still see them clearly

When I close my eyes

Those little yellow devils 

Are surely my demise

Achy and so weary

I slept hard and sound

So pleased with my great effort
